Capital parents ,

It was a great tournament and season opener this past weekend at the Naval Academy! Our team went 3:0, which is great. Since it was our first tournament and the roster was unknown when we signed up for the tournament we had a mix of high school/unregistered/registered players competing (which was allowed).  Moving forward, for any upcoming tournaments, players who are registered for the full year with Capitals will have priority over prep high school players .

Also, this weekend we are back to our Saturday night 8-930 pm and Sunday morning 915-1045 am practice.

On October 2nd we are moving to St James and our final schedule for this season will be:

Monday 8-930 pm

Wednesday 8-930 pm

Friday 8-10 pm

All at St James

Sunday morning practice is from 915 -1045 am at Washington Liberty High School.

Last, our first parents meeting is scheduled for this coming Sunday morning from 945-1045 am . It would be great if everyone could make it, so you have a chance to hear more about our club, board members, coaches, expectations for this season etc. Also, please come with any questions/concerns.

Thank you everyone for choosing Capital Water Polo.

Capital families, our team store is OPEN. Please read a message form Dana McGuckin, she is in charge of team store orders.

  Capital players and families,

Welcome to another exciting year! Please read carefully. There will be two opportunities to purchase team gear again this Fall. The first store is for the essentials. Here you will find the required Turbo suit, same design as last year, and other items for the players. This store will close on Sept. 29th. You will pay for your orders on the site and please enter your own address.  There has been confusion about that in the past. All items will ship to me by default, however enter your own address. That helps Kap7 and me in case of any hiccups. Again, all of the items will ship to me. The store will close at 11:59. No item will be made until the store closes. Therefore, it will take several weeks after the store opens. You will be notified when the items are going to be distributed to your player at practice.

The second team store is still under construction. This store will have the very popular Champion hoodies and sweatpants, the t-shirts, shorts, and some other fun gear for fans. This is where you

order your player the “Capital Water polo” team tee. Coaches ask that your player have a Capital tee while on deck. We want the players to look like a team of “Capital” players proudly wearing our logo. Your coaches are not going to penalize your player of course; however, they ask that your player represent the team.  Capital tees from previous years are acceptable. You ARE NOT required to purchase any of the other gear, however it is suggested.  You will pay for your order on the site, and these items will be delivered to your player at practices. Again, you will be notified when items are being distributed.

In conclusion, please purchase your player a team suit from the first team store and a tee-shirt from the second store when that opens. All gear is delivered to you at practices. All other items are team “swag”, and available for players as well as fans.

Capital families,

We are proud to announce that four of our players have been named 2018-2019 Academic All Americans by USA Water Polo! Congratuations to Logan Kalish, Paul Lukas, Pranay Vittal and Addison Collins.  This is a great accomplishment that not only recognizes them as great athletes but also as great students.

Congrats again!

Capital parents,

I have just received the schedule for the tournament this weekend at Navy. We will be playing 3 games total, 1 on Saturday and 2 on Sunday.

Saturday at 5:40 pm at Lejeune pool, be at the pool by 5:00 pm.

Sunday at 10 am at Lejeune, be there by 9am and 3:30 pm at Scott pool.

Also, we have many players who are playing with high school teams. If any of these players would also like to compete in Capitals games and it does not conflict, that would be helpful.

Thank you for all your support during the high school season !

Capitals family,

It was great seeing everyone the first two days of the season!

We had many returning and young new players, which is really exciting!

This season we were able to have Whitman High School join our 16/18U practice times.  This has both increased the number of players and the intensity of our practices.

Our first tournament of the season is at Navy on Sept. 14/15 (12/14U are 14th only)

I have sent out the schedule for 12/14U.  The 16/18U schedule will be released shortly, but plan on being there the 14th and 15th.

Reminder: Annapolis is about 40-60 minutes away from DC. You cannot park on the base, but you can park around it, so please plan extra time. You need ID to enter the base.

For 12/14U it will be at 845a-945a

For 16/18U it will be at 945a-1045a

Thank you everyone!
